Why We Started SAYAS

The more I play pickleball, the more I realize how much of this sport is disposable.

I go through a paddle about every two months.

A pair of court shoes lasts me about a month.

I've owned bags from some of the biggest names in pickleball, only to have them break after three to five months of regular use.

Every new paddle means another overgrip.

Another roll of tungsten tape.

Another round of adjustments.

At first, I thought that was just part of the sport.

But after years of playing, I started asking a simple question:

Why does so much gear feel temporary?

Some things will always be consumable. Balls crack. Grips wear out. Shoes lose traction. That's the reality of any sport played at a high level.

But not everything should be designed with an expiration date.

The bag you carry every day shouldn't fall apart after a season.

The products you trust shouldn't become another item on a replacement list.

As players ourselves, we've experienced the same frustrations many of you have. We've dealt with broken zippers, ripped seams, poorly designed storage, and products that looked great online but couldn't hold up to real-world use.

That's one of the reasons SAYAS exists.

Not because we wanted to start another pickleball brand.

Because we wanted to build products we'd be excited to use ourselves.

Products designed around the reality of how people actually play.

Products built thoughtfully.

Products built intentionally.

Products built to last.

We're still at the beginning of our journey, but this philosophy guides every decision we make.

We believe details matter.

We believe quality matters.

And we believe the pickleball community deserves products that earn a place in their routine rather than become another replacement.

The sport already has enough consumables.

We're focused on building the things that stay.
