Building SAYAS While Chasing 5.0

Pickleball has a funny way of pulling you in.

At first, it feels simple. You show up, grab a paddle, hit a few balls, and have fun. Then one day you realize you are thinking about resets, patterns, footwork, grip changes, paddle weight, tournament prep, and how to stop missing the same shot over and over again.

That is where the real journey starts.

For me, pickleball became more than just another sport. It became a new competitive outlet. It gave me a reason to train again, to compete again, and to chase that feeling of getting better at something with purpose.

That journey is a big part of why SAYAS exists.

The Personal Side of SAYAS

Follow the personal side of SAYAS through Keith’s Road to 5.0 journey on Instagram: @dopamine_hobbies.

SAYAS is being built by players who are actually in the middle of the game.

We are not sitting on the outside guessing what pickleball players need. We are on the courts, in drilling sessions, at tournaments, testing gear, breaking down points, learning from better players, and figuring out what works through real experience.

That is why I started documenting more of my personal pickleball journey through my Instagram, @dopamine_hobbies.

The page follows my Road to 5.0, but it is also a look at the lifestyle around the game. The drilling, the matches, the bad days, the small improvements, the community, and the process of trying to level up.

Not every session is perfect. Not every match goes the way I want it to. But that is part of what makes the journey worth documenting.

Why Document the Process?

There is something powerful about showing the work while you are still in the middle of it.

It is easy to post only the highlights. The clean winners. The tournament medals. The moments where everything looks smooth. But real improvement usually happens in the less polished parts.

It happens in the Monday drills.

It happens when you are working on resets for the hundredth time.

It happens when you lose a game you thought you should win and have to figure out why.

It happens when you finally make the shot that used to break down under pressure.

That is the side of pickleball I want to share through @dopamine_hobbies. The goal is not to pretend that the process is always easy. The goal is to show what it actually looks like to keep showing up.

Chasing 5.0

The Road to 5.0 is built through reps, adjustments, and learning from every point.

The Road to 5.0 is not just about a number.

It is about becoming a more complete player. It is about learning how to stay calm in faster hands battles, how to build points instead of forcing winners, how to reset under pressure, and how to compete against players who expose every weakness.

At the 4.5 level and above, small details start to matter more.

A slightly late split step matters.

A rushed speedup matters.

A paddle face that opens too much matters.

One poor decision can turn a neutral point into a lost point.

That is what makes the chase so addicting. The better you get, the more you realize how much there still is to learn.

Where SAYAS Fits Into the Journey

SAYAS pickleball gear designed for players training, competing, and living around the game.

SAYAS was built from this same mindset.

We care about details because details matter on the court. We care about quality because players put their gear through real use. We care about thoughtful design because the best products are not just nice to look at, they make life easier before, during, and after play.

That mindset shows up in everything we are working on, from apparel to accessories to our upcoming pickleball backpack.

The goal is not to make products that only look good in photos. The goal is to make products that fit into the real lifestyle of a player.

Products that can go from work to the courts.

Products that can handle long drilling days, tournament weekends, and daily use.

Products that feel like they belong in the rhythm of your life, not just in your bag.

Pickleball as a Lifestyle

The best part of pickleball is not just the improvement. It is the people you meet along the way.

For a lot of us, pickleball has become more than a hobby.

It shapes our week. It introduces us to new people. It gives us something to look forward to after work. It pushes us to move, compete, improve, and stay connected.

That is the part of the sport that is hard to explain until you are in it.

You can show up to open play and end up meeting people you never would have crossed paths with otherwise. You can drill with the same person every week and slowly watch both of your games evolve. You can lose a tough match, talk about it in the parking lot, and already start planning what to work on next.

That community is a huge part of what makes pickleball special.

It is also a huge part of what we want SAYAS to represent.

Building in Public

Sharing the journey through @dopamine_hobbies is also a way to build SAYAS in public.

You will see the training. You will see the matches. You will see the product development process. You will see what we are testing, what we are learning, and what we are trying to improve.

We want people to feel connected to the brand before they ever buy something from us.

Because SAYAS is not just about a logo.

It is about the player who shows up early to warm up.

The player who drills after a bad tournament.

The player who is still learning how to slow the game down.

The player who wants gear that feels as intentional as the effort they put into improving.

That is the player we are building for.

Follow the Journey

If you want to see the more personal side of SAYAS, follow @dopamine_hobbies on Instagram.

That is where I will continue sharing my Road to 5.0, drilling sessions, match clips, lessons learned, and behind-the-scenes moments from building SAYAS.

The goal is simple: keep improving, keep learning, and keep building something that the pickleball community can genuinely connect with.

SAYAS is still growing.

So am I.

And that is the whole point.
